Lady Godiva is a classic Anglo-Saxon tale. The tale of Lady Godiva, like many great legends are based on truths. Nearly 1,000 years from when the tale is said to take place, it is hard to figure out what is fact and what is legend. Lady Godiva a noble woman disagreed with her husband issuing of heavy taxes. Her husband said he would ease up on the taxes if she rode through the town naked. She did, but her towns people had so much respect for her, they did not gaze upon her. All but one man named Tom. Tom would forever be known as peeping Tom.
